MY BACKGROUND

After gaining an HND in Graphic Design at Colchester School of Art in 1994, I started my career as a junior designer/artworker with a design company based in Chertsey, Surrey. Clients included BT, Yellow Pages, Chubb Security and Royal Mail.

Later on I moved to London and joined a creative freelance agency called Adlink. For the next few years I gained invaluable experience working freelance for a variety of renowned companies such as Wolff Olins, Coley Porter Bell, Haymarket Publishing and Barkers Advertising.

During the late nineties I left the UK to work overseas, mainly based in South East Asia and Russia. A large part of this time was spent working in journalism, providing artwork and photography for newspapers such as The Phnom Penh Post and The Moscow Times. Further freelance posts followed with advertising agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam), Kinnary Advertising (Vientiane, Laos), I-Media (Moscow) and Maxima Advertising (Moscow).

Returning to the UK in 2003 (as well as starting a family), I set up JP Design, specialising in graphic design, photography and print. Today, JPD is an effective design consultancy that offers no-nonsense creative solutions for business.
